2009 Marks the 15th anniversary of the original Release of INITIAL STATE " Abort The Soul" which was original released on Clearview Records in 1994. An Evolution of Antischism and despite only laying four shows, Initial State with it's wild downtuning really was a key element in the genesis of the Downtuned Southern Crust of the mid to late 90's. I found a pretty neat blog where One of the guys from Clearview responded a little about the band and about the making of the LP , which was recorded, like many, Antischism, Deathreat,Guyana Punch Line, Damad recordings at columbia, South Carolina's The Jam Room which is still active as a recording studio today.
