Dark and bleak hardcore cornered in metallic rock, but thundering with determined intent. Fueled by the upbeat energy of Japanese hardcore, but drawing longer mid tempo compositions of shouted despair, pounded drum beats and screaming guitars influenced by UK bands such as Antisect and Amebix, the EP includes a rollicking cover of Amebix's "No Sanctuary." Crow has been on and off the hardcore scene for almost two decades, with numerous releases in Japan. This was their first US release in 2001, recorded in Oakland at Polymorph Studios and has been out of print for over six years, with cover art and design by Carl Auge of His Hero Is Gone and Drain the Sky. The Cover has been re-worked for this re-release and the EP issued on limited to 400 red vinyl.

This is a slightly altered and remastered version of their first full length / second LP since the 1980's with 9 tracks that were originally released by Prank in 2007. Some of the songs are intense re-recorded versions of some of their classic tracks (including their Signature track "Give Up All Hope" that has been covered by numerous bands including the UK"s legendary Doom) as well as new recordings of songs from their recent ultra- limited Japanese releases. This is the official vinyl release of this LP, which was released as a CD-only on the Mangrove label in Japan. The LP sequence has slight variations in both track listing and mixes. CROW are touring in California and appearing at the "Chaos in Tejas" Festival in May. 1000 made / available for a limited time only.

ENORMOUS DOOR STUDIO= A NEW PROJECT FROM JACK CONTROL!
Jack Control ( severed Head of state, Mind COntrol Records, World Burns to Death) has opened a new studio in Austin, Texas called "Enormous Door" He's recently done mastering work for MARTYRDOD, ATTAKE, GOVERNMENT WARNING and others. Soon he will also be able to record bands at the studio. Here's his message about it:
"So after 15 years of producing/engineering/mastering all of the wb2d/shos/mind control stuff, i've spent the loot and opened my own studio.
i can work wonders with flat/bad recordings. can add depth and dynamics, and with meticulous EQ'ing, compression, limiting, etc... I can lift "the blanket" off of your recording.
can also sequence, do fades, and general editing of your recording.
i don't do vinyl laquer mastering. i do CD mastering/volume maximizing/parametric EQ and multi-band dynamics/stereo imaging/mastering reverb/etc... basically, you track and mix, send it to me, i make it sound way better before it's sent off to be cut to laquer for the vinyl pressing plant.
for cd's i do the same with volume maximization/brickwall limiting/dithering/etc....
i will start tracking and mixing bands here in the next couple of months."

Prank has not updated it's website with the new stuff yet because We sold out of the new Gauze 12" in record time on the basis of sending out a message on our Yahoo group ( where new prank releases are always announced first in a bulk email) and a few internet posts. There are still copies at NO IDEA, Havoc, PAINKILLER, Moo Cow Records 16oh, Sorry State, Sound Idea Brickwall, Velted regnub and more. La Vida Es Musin London Will have these shortly. This record is currently being re-pressed.

DROKK! WHERE THE FRAK IS THE GAUZE AND WB2D RECORDS???
In the history of Prank, we've never experienced delays like we have on our two most anticipated releases this decade- the vinyl version of the 5th GAUZE LP and theWORLD BURNS TO DEATH "THe Graveyard of Utopia". If you
haven't been watching the news that vinyl is making a huge comeback.
This has tripped up the delivery of these two releases, which our faithful and always recommended pressing plant has been cranking away, reporting they've been having to run their vinyl press 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to meet demand.. They've also be kind to put up with our stress and general cranky and ogrsh behavior as we sweat getting this much stuff out! Thank You.
Prank's sales have always been vinyl heavy, sometimes half or more of the release, and we never have really considered the record "done" until it appears on LP, for all these reason these articles mention, artwork, Mastering,etc.
Anyway, Still not done...and We think these should be ready finally in the next Week to ten days, So stay tuned, Check back here for more updates.

SAVE THE DATE AUGUST 23RD
It's My Birthday, Prank's 13th Anniversary and still close enough for a West Coast record release show for "The Graveyard of Utopia" So We're flying WORLD BURNS TO DEATH in for what will probably be their only West Coast appearance this year. AUGUST 23rd at Annie's Social Club in SF. 21+... sorry kids, their drummer, because of work and family committments and the way flights out of Austin work can only come to SF for literally 14 hours. Plus we've got a couple other bands we're working on bringing in, so need the higher door take of a bar to not totally eat it on plane flights. Prank is trying to experiment with doing more of these kinds of shows in the Bay, so hopefully We can bring in more bands on Special events and balance them with Shows at Gilman and other All ages venues.
UPdate: IRON LUNG is now on the bill too. Only Bay Area show this summer? DESOLATION and one more will open.
Also-thrillhouse Records is having a a festival that entire weekend, with shows at thrillhouse, The parkside and the Knockout, so it's a great weekend to come to the bay!

The Special Edition of WORLD BURNS TO DEATH " The Graveyard Of Utopia" is Sold out in 24 hours! Thanks folks!!The regular version of the third and newest World Burns To Death LP, co-released with HG FACT, will be out soon. Since they have always been home to all things WB2D, we're had HARDCORE HOLOCAUST distribution handle the limited version / The same as the Version recently on Sale at Chaos In Tejas.

The result is the band's strongest offering to date.
Studio time in Tokyo allowed for guest appearances from luminaries from the Japanese Punk scene- with backing vocals on from Ishiya FORWARD and Iizawa BASTARD/JUDGEMENT as well as guest guitar solos from Souichi FORWARD and Keiro AKUTARE and Chelsea DEATHSIDE/PAINTBOX. While WB2D's lyrics have always been caged in Historical reference, the theme of this LP is rooted in the Failures, Disasters and Massacres of the Soviet State Apparatus.
This is a split release between Prank and Japanese label HG FACT, with them handling the CD version and Prank releasing the vinyl. WORLD BURNS TO DEATH are currently preparing for their first tour of Europe, hitting four major punk festivals across Continental Europe and Scanidinavia in a whirlwind two weeks. Making Punk Happen Indeed!

WORLD BURNS TO DEATH "THE GRAVEYARD OF UTOPIA" LP
One of Prank's most anticipated releases to unleash in 2008 is the upcoming WORLD BURNS TO DEATH "The Graveyard of Utopia" 8 song LP. This was tracked initially at Our House studio in Tokyo after the WB2D 2007 Japanese tour. Our House is where many of the legendary Japanese hardcore LP's and Deathreat's "Consider It War" 12", the recent ARTIMUS PYLE 7" on Insane Society/ Too Circle, etc were recorded and This record features cameos from a lot of luminaries from the Japanese scene-Backing vocals on one track from Ishiya from FORWARD, Solos from Souici from FORWARD and Keiro from AKUTARE and a blazing solo from Chelsea from PAINTBOX...R.I.P..
Parts of the record were later re-tracked at THE BUBBLE in Austin with Frenchie Smith, who recorded SIGNAL LOST'S "Prosthetic Screams", and Signal Lost's vocalist Ashley even contributes some backing vocals to a track on this new LP. It's a different record than the last outing by WB2D " totalitarian Sodomy" as WB2D continue to evolve.There's some final studio and artwork tweaks and We hope to be in production by Mid-February.

World Burns to Death are tenatively doing a short European tour of Northern Europe ( Scandinavia- Germany- Poland- Czech) in June. Jon has kids and a real job, so the tour has to be short and Can't go everywhere, but they are most likely hitting several major fests worth travelling for if you live in a different part of Europe.
